Pondicherry is a land of penance that attracts Siddhapurushas . Formerly known as Vedapuri, Puducherry has attracted and supported spiritual ascetics. Twenty-seven Siddhar Samadhis (Tombs)  are located within the city of Puducherry alone is a testimony to that ! Puducherry is the land of world fame for supporting the Great Poet  Bharathi, Sri Aurobindo from Bengal and The Mother from France. The new identity of Puducherry is the city of Auroville, which has been developed as the International Centre of many countries of the world.  The holy soil of various countries are poured underneath its platform.

Karamanikuppam Sri Sakthivel Paramananda Swami, Thattanjavadi Sri Kambali Gnanadesika Swami, Ponnyammankoil Sri Ekambara Natha Swami, Near New Bus Stand Sri Mannurutti Swami, Thattan Chavadi Sri Coconut Swami, Villayanur Sriram Paradesi Swami, Pallith Thennal Sri Dakshinamurthy Swami, Ariyur Sri Gurusamy Ammaiyar Swami, Nallathur Sri Sivaprakasa Swami, Chinnababu Samudram Sri Mahan Pare Sayubu Swami, South Nambakkam Sri Alagappa Swami, Embalam Sri Appar Swamikal, Irumbai Province Sri Kaduveli Swamikal, Korgad Sri Korakar Swami, Thattanjavadi Sri Ganapathi Swami, Kanuvappettai Sri Sannyasi Swami, Thirukanchi Sri Sathashiva Swami, Sankuppam Sri Navabhashana Swami, Tilaspettai Sri Appa Paithiyam Swami, Rani Hospital Sri Siva Sadiyapar Swami. These  samathis ( tombs ) are the spiritual treasures of Pondicherry. 

Bhagavan Yogi Ramsurathkumar, fondly called by the people of Thiruvannamalai as Visiri Swami, was closely associated with Pondicherry  and Aurobindo Ashram, even though he lived in Thiruvannmalai. He nurtured this divine relationship with Puthuvai,   through his devotees who came to visit him from Pondicherry.

Bhagwan Yogi Ramsurathkumar Jayanthi celebrations were conducted in Pondicherry by the Late  Rajamanika Nadar in the eighties. Seminars were held on 7th and 8th May 1988 at Puduwai Kampan Kalaiarangam and a special  souvenir booklet  about Yogi ( Divine Message to Humanity by H.H. YOGI RAMSURATKUMAR) was published.

In the year 2018 Yogi Centenary Celebration was celebrated on 29/7/2018 at Sri Sidthanandar Temple Complex Puduvai. All Trustees from Tiruvannamalai Ashram participated and honored the occasion.  A Yogi centenary souvenir booklet was also released.

Mother Ma Devaki , in  Puduvai Yogi Centenary Celeberations,  called for a Yogi Ashram to be established in Pondicherry. In order to fulfill that divine wish, a Trust ( YOGI RAMSURATKUMAR UNIVERSAL ASHRAM TRUST PONDICHERRY ) has been registered recently for the establishment of Yogi Ramsuratkumar Universal  Ashram in Pondicherry
